Abuja, Nigeria — June 13, 2025 – Ibrahim Alan Isaac, CEO of Frontdreams Technologies and IT & Digital Media Consultant at the African International Documentary Festival Foundation (AFIDFF), delivered a keynote contribution at the 68th CAF - UN Tourism Commission for Africa, held in Abuja, Nigeria.
Speaking as part of the Innovators’ Panel – “Pioneers in AI-Driven Solutions in Tourism and the Creative Industries,” Mr. Alan addressed the evolving intersection of technology, storytelling, and African tourism, highlighting how artificial intelligence and immersive media are transforming the way the world engages with Africa’s cultural heritage.
The event, hosted by the Honourable Minister of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, brought together key stakeholders and dignitaries from across the African continent. The Innovators’ Panel – Mr. Kingsley URANTA from Channels TV (Moderator), Dr. Julia GIDDY, Senior Lecturer from University of Johannesburg, Mr. Adewolu ADENE from Google West Africa, Mr. Obi ASIKA, CEO of National Council for Arts and Culture Nigeria, Dr. Eze E. KENNEDY who is an Academic Researcher, and Mr. Ibrahim Alan Isaac, IT and Digital Media Consultant at African International Documentary Festival Foundation.
Representing AFIDFF, Mr. Alan emphasized the importance of using advanced technologies—including AI tools, virtual reality, and 3D virtual tours—to digitally preserve and promote Africa’s rich but often underrepresented cultural destinations.
“The tools are here,” he noted. “But the responsibility to use them wisely—to tell our stories accurately, respectfully, and powerfully—rests with us.”
In his remarks, Mr. Alan highlighted the paradox of Africa’s global cultural influence: while the continent has successfully exported its music, fashion, and cuisine through Nollywood and social media, its heritage sites and local tourist destinations remain vastly underpromoted on the global stage.
He called for greater investment in educating rural communities, empowering young content creators, and standardizing narratives around African tourism—particularly in an era where AI can rapidly accelerate the reach and impact of digital storytelling.
“We must find the balance between passion, profit, and cultural responsibility,” he said. “Africa’s tourism future is not only about bringing people in, but about giving the world the right reasons—and the right stories—to come.”
Frontdreams Technologies remains committed to driving innovative digital solutions that amplify African narratives through technology and media.
